Stone Cladding FAQs
What is stone cladding?
Stone cladding is a layer of natural stone fixed to the face of an existing wall, giving it the look and feel of solid stone without building a full stone wall. It is used on house facades, entries, pillars, fireplaces, feature walls and outdoor areas.
Where can stone cladding be used?
Almost anywhere you want a natural stone finish. Popular projects on the Sunshine Coast include house facades and front entries, garage pillars, letterboxes, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, TV and feature walls, pool walls, retaining walls and outdoor kitchens.
Can stone cladding be installed over an existing wall?
In most cases, yes. Stone cladding is commonly installed over sound brick, block, concrete and rendered masonry walls. We inspect the wall first and let you know if any preparation is needed before the stone goes on.
Do you supply the stone as well as install it?
We specialise in installation and can also supply the stone if needed. We are happy to help you choose a colour, texture and laying pattern that suits your home.
How long does a stone cladding job take?
It depends on the size of the area, the type of stone and access to the site. A letterbox or small feature is much quicker than a full facade. We give you a clear timeframe with your quote.
Is natural stone cladding suitable for coastal conditions?
Yes. Natural stone is extremely durable, handles sun, rain and salty air well, and does not fade like painted finishes. An occasional wash down is usually all it needs, and some stones can be sealed for extra protection.
What areas do you service?
We are based on the Sunshine Coast and install stone cladding right across the Sunshine Coast, including Pelican Waters, Golden Beach, Little Mountain, Kawana, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Buderim, Coolum, Peregian Springs, Noosa and the hinterland.
