Before & After: Stone-Clad Front Entry in Little Mountain
A front entry is the first thing visitors notice, and on many Sunshine Coast homes it is a plain rendered wall that blends into the rest of the facade. On this recent job in Little Mountain, the owners wanted their entry to stand out without a full renovation, so we transformed it with natural stone cladding.
Before: A Plain Rendered Entry

The original entry was all white render. It was clean and tidy, but it had no texture or focal point, and the front door and portico pillar disappeared into the rest of the house.
After: A Natural Stone Feature Entry

We clad the tall wall beside the entry and the walls framing the front door in a light natural stone with warm, honey-coloured tones. The white portico pillar was left rendered, so it now stands out crisply against the stone, and the timber front door is framed by texture instead of flat render.
Why This Works
- Instant street appeal – the entry now reads as a deliberate design feature from the street.
- Works with the existing house – stone cladding is fixed to the existing walls, so there was no need to rebuild anything.
- Suits the coastal setting – the light stone tones pair naturally with the palms, lawn and white render.
- Low maintenance – natural stone does not need repainting and handles Sunshine Coast sun and rain.
Could Your Entry Get the Same Treatment?
Most rendered, brick and block walls can be clad in natural stone. Entries, portico walls, pillars and garage surrounds are some of the most popular areas because they make a big visual difference for a relatively small area of stone. We service Little Mountain, Caloundra and the whole Sunshine Coast.
